It makes sense for wolves to hunt in packs. Hunting takes up a lot of energy. Most wolves hunt in packs of four or more. Just two wolves alone cant eat a whole moose by themselves. A pair of wolves loses an average of 37 percent of their carcass to ravens. A pack of six wolves loses about 17 percent. A pack of six wolves gobbles meat quickly.
